West Tower Wedding Photography Preview – Rob & Jayne’s

Jayne & Rob’s West Tower Wedding Photography Preview

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of photographing Jayne and Rob’s Wedding. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at West Tower in Aughton. Their Wedding was also our first wedding of the New Year & New Decade!. We couldn’t wait to get back to work at one of our favourite local venues, West Tower.

The Wedding Venue

For anyone who hasn’t visited West Tower before, it is an all inclusive venue with accommodation for all the guests. It has a great vibe for couples who are quite laid-back, as it saves the stress of organising all your guests. It is also a spot on wedding venue for a formal sit down meal too, during the reception. The staff are exceptionally organised, super friendly and helpful!. They’re up for their TENTH Award at County Brides Awards for Best Lancashire Wedding Venue, which is amazing!

Jayne and Rob had the pleasure of both being able to get ready at the venue before the ceremony. They had no worries about travelling between venues which is definitely a big perk of West Tower.  It showed, with the very laid-back vibes of the morning.

When we arrived Jayne was getting her hair and make-up finished off by her lovely bridesmaid. I got to meet her parents, bridesmaids and their lovely daughter Grace (amazing name!). Grace was full of energy and fun, and it was a delight to capture some morning shots of her before she got into her pretty dress!c

The Ceremony and Formals

The ceremony room is beautiful whatever the season. With the large windows letting in all the gorgeous daylight, and the room was just so bright and airy!. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful with Grace toddling down the aisle, a very special moment for her family. There were also three beautiful readings read by close family members and friends of Jayne and Rob.

After the ceremony, we all headed out into the not-so-cold January air, for a big group shot on the iconic West Tower steps. Followed by some smaller family photos at the band-stand to complete the formal photos. We left Jayne and Rob for a mingle with heir guests, and a drink or two. We then headed back to steal them for some couple’s shots, for about 15 minutes out of the day. The shoot was great, Jayne & Rob got some (sort of) alone time to catch up, and we got some lovely shots of them. The sun even decided to pop out for a couple of minutes for us, and I love winter sun!. When it is low in the trees, and is diffused by the clouds and makes for some really different, and beautifully lit shots.

The Speeches

We then headed back in for speeches which were so lovely, Jayne’s Dads speech was so cute and emotional and Rob’s was just lovely! We were treated to a lovely meal ourselves, which was delicious! and then got some candid shots of evening guests arriving and a bit of dance floor action!

We later headed out to get some evening portraits, something which is a staple of ours for wintery/colder weddings. As it’s so dark we get to experiment with different lighting and have a play around, getting creative!

The First Dance

Jayne and Rob danced to ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ from Toy Story, and it was so cute, with a couple of spins and loads of cuddles. Followed by Jayne & her Dad dancing together! I have a soft spot for Dads and their daughters, it reminds me of Ant and our girls together, and gets me all excited for the future for my own little family! (no rush, of course).

This is just a sneak preview of Yesterday, and a full blog will follow once Jayne and Rob have received their whole gallery in a few weeks time!

Enjoy the Honeymoon(s) you two!
