The Pumping House Wedding | Roxie & Scott
Roxie & Scott’s Wedding Day at The Pumping House, Ollerton
‘We worked with The Struths and could not be happier with the photos we got of our day. We already loved their photography, which we basically kept referring to as not-too-hipster-but-still-just-kinda-hipster-enough and agreed early on that working with Kim and Ant was one of our non-negotiables (i.e., if we ran out of budget, or had to make a touch decision, we didn’t budge on photography). It was so worth it, and we think they captured the spirit of our wedding incredibly. Plus they’re both absolutely lovely, hilarious, wonderful humans.’ – Roxie & Scott
Roxie & Scott’s Pumping House Wedding in Ollerton was a DREAM for us to photograph!
I’ve known Roxie for a loooong time, we spent a few years together in college studying performing arts and singing our arses off! And I had the privilege of Roxie’s Mum Jackie of Roxie O’Del Couture make my own wedding dress.
As many of you know, I was HEAVILY pregnant when Ant and I got married. I kept being put in awkward situations at some bridal stores (luckily I know MANY amazing bridal boutiques and designers now). At the time I wasn’t in the wedding loop and so felt a bit lost. I went and met with Jackie and she instantly relaxed me. We discussed concepts and she was so kind and helped me design exactly what I wanted. She knew what would be flattering for me and Ivy bump! Both my Mum and I left feeling so much more relaxed, and I can confirm that I felt A MILLION QUID on our wedding day. I will always be so happy that we found Jackie’s talents when we did!
The Big Day
Anyway, enough of the testimonial, this is about Roxie & Scott! (Although another shout out to Jackie who made the Bridesmaid dresses… I’ll stop now haha).
We drove for two and a half hours to reach Ollerton and the wonderful Pumping House. It’s a venue we have shot at before and we instantly fell in love with the area, the venue itself, the amazing and so lovely staff. They also have incredible recommended venders, many of whom Roxie & Scott chose for their day too!
I headed to the bridal room to meet up with all the ladies ahead of the ceremony and these girls were a right laugh and you could see how close they all were to Roxie. Ant was swanning around the boys, getting some candid shots of them and it looked like they had a similar vibe going – minus hair and make-up.
The Ceremony
The ceremony itself was held upstairs. The windows of the venue had the most beautiful light peeping through and that, mixed with the cool wedding stationery and stunning flowers, was just such a fantastic combo.
I don’t need to tell you that these two are perfectly matched. I don’t even need to try and explain the feelings on the day and how in love they both are… Because you can see it in their faces, in all of the images of them together. You can see sincerity and love and laughter and you can’t ask for more than that on your wedding day. It was truly a lovely feeling to be around. We even had the privilege of hopping in the camper van with Roxie & Scott for a little drive around Ollerton. My GOD we must have all burnt the poor driver’s ears off with all of our gabbing and nattering!
After a swift neck of a champagne bottle, we headed back to the guests for the confetti and YES it was amazing to photograph! It went EVERYWHERE!
Group Pictures
As the sun started to set we all hurried of to get some group shots and couple’s pictures before the sun sodded off. We then went in for speeches, food and partying! Speaking of FOOD, there were food stalls outside for fish and chips and pizza. I was so excited haha!
Roxie & Scott even sent us on our long drive home with a box of pizzas and a slab of cake!
This pair are two of the loveliest and warmest people you could hope to meet and we really so wish them all the happiness in the world. They so deserve it!
