A Liverpool City Elopement Wedding | Nicky & Matthew

February 6, 2018

When I first heard from Nicky & Matthew about their wedding I was absolutely BUZZING! Nicky sent me an email saying that they were in love, they wanted to get married, no fuss, just love! And they wanted to know if we could capture it for them. I was like ‘HELL YES!’ Elopements excite me so much! I love being a witness, I love the secrecy and the romance, the Romeo & Juliet vibes (minus the ending, obvs) and the freedom that comes with it. The couples get to have their day, their way and we get to have a really important role, and we get the opportunity to be super creative and have fun on a more personal level. Now I am certainly not dissing big white weddings, they have their own awesomeness going on! And Nicky & Matthew felt the same, but for them, this is the way they wanted to get married and owning that was so admirable!

We met up in the morning at St George’s Hall in Liverpool City Centre, one of our favourite places to photograph weddings and myself and my lovely assistant for the day, Chloe, enjoyed their beautiful and emotional ceremony with the wonderful registrar Ann-Marie. We then went for a wander around the grounds of St George’s, the scenery just cant be beat! Before heading into the museum, one of the pairs favourite places to visit and we captures some fun and creative shots there before finishing outside Liverpool Central Library. Finishing up outside a world of books was just beautiful!

As you can see from the super relaxed vibe of these images, Nicky & Matthew had a wonderful morning and I’m sure they had an incredible time for the rest of the day!

Huge congratulations to you both!
